No. R15208
Wonderful japanned Act of Parliament clock signed by John Monkhouse in excellent condition.
It's original everything (Japanning & case, hands, works, pendulum, London weight) and it keeps time like a regulator
John Monkhouse is recorded as working in London between the dates of 1756 to 1771.
Act of Parliament clocks were popular in the mid 18th and Japanning was popular from the early to mid 18th century.
This handsome antique clock is circa: 1760
The condition is outstanding - with Japanned pieces, all they had to do is get wet once ant the Japanning (that's 3 dimentional - built up with many layers) and it would have been ruined.
This clock has all the original Japanning.
