A Superb pair of English  appliqué  fabric panels,
depicting figures in a pastoral scene, on a gouache ground, framed.

In one the background is painted a lake & forest scene with a couple outfitted for a walk with staffs and canteens - she has a small dog on a leash.
In the other, also a forest scene, there’s a rustic shed and a grand lady with her maid and a blackamoor (holding a parasol) confronting a woodsman and a monk (note the finery of the lady’s clothes).
