New York Corner Chair

No. R16128

Wonderful New York three cabriole leg ball & claw foot corner chair (or roundabout chair).

The three legs are a very strong cabriole with the ball & claw feet of the proper “square” New York shape. Note the front leg has more figure in the walnut.

Wonderful New York type turned arm supports and rear leg.

Note the tiny volute on the backrest.

Also note that the solid splats are the same silhouette as the pierced splats used in other New York chairs.  This would have been the choice of the original purchaser (most all American furniture was bespoke), perhaps for comfort.
